liquid liners

liquid liners
One thing that I love and can't go without when it comes to make-up has to be eyeliner. When I was younger I just used an eye pencil, then I discovered gel eye liner. I still use this and love it! But recently I have discovered a new love: liquid eye liner! I absolutely love this stuff. It used to scare me because I felt like if you made a mistake it would be harder to correct, and it would be difficult to put on...but I was totally wrong. I'm so glad I branched out and tried liquid eyeliner because it is now something I use almost everyday, especially if you like the winged eyeliner look. I love this look, Lauren Conrad has the look down perfectly. I always wanted to do it and I was always scared to. Well I tried and after some practice I got the winged look down. But I really think that the liquid eyeliner you choose makes a huge difference.
My favorite has to be Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner! It was voted one of the best beauty products at Sephora and with a good reason, this stuff is amazing!!! Its seriously my new favorite make-up product. It goes on so easily, no smudges whatsoever and it draws on like a marker. Its a great liner to try out the winged look.
If you're not wanting to spend twenty dollars for eyeliner there's two drugstore brands that I know work amazingly well also. And I almost love them just as much.

These are both so cheap its crazy, and they work so well. If you've never tried liquid liners I would definitely reccomend it and let me know what you think:)

Thanks for reading:)

florals for spring

florals for spring
So I never posted my outfit pictures that I took for my blog design. I primarily took these pictures for my blog but I loved the outfit so much that I thought I should post an outfit post about it. Especially because I am loving the floral blouse here. With this beautiful Spring weather in the air I am loving anything that reflects the season, and I really believe florals do just that! I'm loving this blouse so much, I got it at Kohls actually. Kohls carries one of my favorite clothes brands, and that's the Lauren Conrad Collection...I seriously love her clothes, I think they are so girly and feminine PLUS its a great price. I had a gift card to Kohls so I only paid five dollars for this shirt..but its originally only like thirty dollars. I would definitely recommend checking out her line if you haven't because I always find something there that I love!  I paired this blouse with a blue beaded statement necklace that I thought really brought the whole look together! And I am loving these jeans! I love how they are navy blue and just kind of different! What do you think?

simplicity with maxi skirts

simplicity with maxi skirts
I love maxi skirts, I think they are so comfortable but its not like you're dressing down, but almost up. This look is very simple but that's what I love. Sometimes I just want a simple, but cute look. And maxi skirts can do just that! The simplicity of this outfit is what am loving. I feel like you can never have too many maxi skirts because its something that could be worn to several different places. You can wear them to school, church, work, and even a night out! I found this maxi skirt at a boutique in Orem called Bella Ella Boutique. Matt and I were out Saturday night waiting for our movie to start, so we were in the University Mall area and this boutique is just in front of the movies next to the Sweet Tooth Fairy, so we went inside and I loved it! They have tons of maxi skirts and everything there is so cute! I'm so glad I went inside because they have a lot of cute things! They have three locations here in Utah but if your'e not in Utah then you can just go to their website to check out their stuff:)

eyebrow kit review

26 March 2013

eyebrow kit review

So up until recently I never really used anything on my eyebrows. I just left them alone and left it at that. But whenever I got my make-up done, the make-up artists would fill in my eyebrows...and I LOVED it! There really was a huge difference, I really thought it made me look better, and just pulled everything together. I thought how have I been living without an eyebrow kit? So after realizing I needed to start actually caring about my eyebrows besides just getting them waxed, I started researching what to buy. I talked with some make-up artists and they told me what they thought was best, some even just used a dark eyeshadow to fill in the eyebrow, which TOTALLY works! But one day when I was out shopping for make-up with my friend, and I was looking at different eyebrow kits at Sephora, when she told me about this eyebrow kit at Target that I should just get because it works really well and I won't be spending a fortune. So later that night I made Matt take me to Target to get this eyebrow kit...they were sold out(now you know its a good product when its sold out) so I asked a sales associate if they had them at a different Target...they did. So the next day Matt took me to the other Target where I purchased this amazing kit!
The eyebrow kit that I raving about is the e.l.f. Studio Kit from Target. e.l.f is a brand only at Target and its made by Clinique!! Which I thought was really cool because I love Clinique, and its a brand that I trust! But my favorite part about e.l.f is that its SO AFFORDABLE!!! I only paid 3 DOLLARS for my eyebrow kit, and I seriously love it!

I have nothing but good things to say about this kit! Even if it was more than three dollars I would  still have bought it, because it does such an amazing job. It comes with a little brush that is really all you need and then it has the gel and the powder. So you use the gel to help define your brows and arch them and then the powder to fill them in. This kit is giving you want you need to make your eyebrows more full, defined, and thicker looking! I would seriously reccomend this eyebrow kit, especially because its so affordable, I would say why not give it a try because its only 3 dollars. And if you do try it, let me know what you think:)

Leopard and Denim

25 March 2013

Leopard and Denim
Some of my favorite things to wear at the moment is just my denim shirt and leggings, I love to be comfortable but at the same time I want to look cute. That's why I think this outfit is a perfect mix of comfort but style. I paired my denim shirt with a leopard cardigan, some necklaces, and a gold beaded cuff. I also wore my black leather boots and black across the body purse. I love this look because I was so comfortable the whole day, but I also felt feminine and ready to go out. I think the denim and leopard together are a perfect mix of patterns for a girly feminine touch!

Pastels for Spring

24 March 2013

Pastels for Spring
First and foremost I am so happy to announce that I finally got around to having my blog designed! Elise from Hunters of Happiness did an amazing job on the blog design and I love it! And she's seriously the sweetest person to work with! If you're ever interested in a blog design have Elise do it because she'll give you exactly what you want, if not more:)

So it might have snowed over the weekend here in Utah, but its still Spring so we are allowed to dress accordingly, and one thing I am absolutely loving for this Spring season is pastels! I have been wearing pastels on repeat lately and I can't get enough of them. For this look I wore a lilac colored button up from Old Navy, I got this baby for $15!! What a steal no? I got it so cheap because I found it at the Old Navy Outlet in Houston. I paired it with some of my favorite jeans that are not exactly denim but navy blue, then a denim vest, and to pull the whole look together one of my new favorite statement necklaces, and if you notice it has pastels in it also! I love this look because even though its still snowing and cold here in Utah, we can still showcase our favorite Spring trends:)

BB Creams

21 March 2013

BB Creams
So I don't know about you but I've been hearing so many things about BB Creams lately. BB creams first got their popularity in Asia and now its starting to gain popularity in other parts of the globe. What is BB cream you may ask? BB Cream= Beauty Balm, Blemish Balm, or Blemish Base. I like saying its the Beauty Balm better because it doesn't just cover blemishes on your face, it does SO much more! It offers so many things for you. It's going to give you a good base for your makeup, its like a tinted moisturizer that will give you the right amount of coverage without looking like you have too much makeup on, cover blemishes, helping with aging by tightening your face, and it has SPF in it. So it basically has so many uses in just one thing. You can skip your moisturizer and foundation with this thing. What intrigued me to using BB Cream was that it gives you more of a flawless look then foundation does, its more light and it doesn't feel like you're wearing any face makeup. One thing I really don't like about wearing foundation is that I feel like I have so much makeup on and it feels caked on. But with BB Cream its giving me the coverage that I need without all the heaviness that face makeup usually gives.

So I decided to try out BB Cream, and I LOVE IT! I don't know how I survived without it, because I love what it does to my face. I really do believe that it makes a huge difference in my complexion. But my favorite part has to be that it feels SO light! I always hated wearing foundation but wanted the coverage, but now I can have it all. I researched a lot about which BB Cream to buy and concluded on the Bobbi Brown BB Cream, and I'm so happy I did!

I would highly recommend the Bobbi Brown BB cream because I know it delivers and it will give you all the benefits you need out of a face makeup. But if you're not feeling it with the Bobbi Brown BB Cream, let me tell you about some other ones that got great reviews and I got really close to buying:

If you're looking for a less expensive BB Cream that still does the same thing then this is your go to BB cream, its only 12 dollars!! Great deal if you ask me!

Clinique Age Defence BB Cream SPF30
Just like the Bobbi Brown BB Cream this Clinique BB Cream received tons of awards like the Nordstrom Beauty Awards 2012.

This BB Cream has gotten TONS of really great reviews! I almost purchased this one instead of the Bobbi Brown one.

This is another drugstore brand BB Cream that got great reviews! Its only NINE dollars! So cheap for something that is ulitately chaning how you look!

Interetested in BB Creams? Then give it a shot, it doesn't hurt to try, but I promise you'll like the results!

houston diary 3

20 March 2013

houston diary 3
So I'm combining my last three days together in one blog post because it was really kinda all the same thing because we were in Galveston Island those three days. So Friday after Matt and I ran errands in Sugar Land and had lunch at Cafe Express we headed to Galveston Island which is a beach about 45 minutes away from Sugar Land, where I grew up. We got to spend the next two nights in my mom's condo and it was so nice to be so close to the beach! Here's some pictures my mom took of us when we first got there!

That night we just hung out with my mom and her boyfriend at the condo and watched TV and ate some pizza, before we went to bed we wanted to walk on the beach a little. So Matt and I headed down to the beach and walked along the water in the sand, I LOVE DOING THIS! Its so relaxing, and its so beautiful!
The next day Matt and I got up super early and headed down to the beach again. We walked along the beach until we got to Pleasure Pier which is like a little amusement park on a pier. Its pretty fun! We got there early enough to ride the rides without any lines. Matt made me go on this crazy roller coaster that takes you straight up and then straight back down and then tons of loops...I WAS SO SCARED! I was screaming the whole time ha...but we rode this other ride that takes you 230 feet above the water and then spins you 40 miles an hour. This was kind of freaky because you get really freaked out of the idea of flying off and then dying  ha..Matt and I kept discussing after what we would do if the ride broke and we spun out..haha yes we're weird. But we just enjoyed the rides on the pier and then we went back to the condo to leave to the beach with my mom and boyfriend. We spent sometime on the beach and then we had a BBQ. Later that night Matt and I headed back to Pleasure Pier to ride some more rides and get some funnel cake haha. It was SO crowded there though, so we just decided to hang around there and also ride the Ferris wheel, since we hadn't yet. I got an airbrush tattoo haha, we ate some amazing funnel cake, played some games where Matt won me an adorable stuffed elephant, and saw an amazing sunset.

After Pleasure Pier Matt really wanted some seafood so we went to this place called Gaidos. This was quite the experience  Matt loves seafood, where as I hate it. So we got calamari for an appetizer and then he got shrimp for his meal, I just got the most random things because there wasn't much to choose from for me. This restaurant was pretty nice, at the end of the meal they give you this little bowl of warm water with a lime, I couldn't understand our waitress when I asked if we were supposed to drink it. I believe she said we were supposed to wash our hands it...so Matt and I did this. We were so confused and couldn't stop laughing, our hands were really soft after,k but I still don't know if we were supposed to drink it or not. So y'all know, let me know if we did it right or not haha.
The next day we just headed back to my mom's house and then we took a boat ride to the Kemah boardwalk, we tried fishing but it was so windy to catch anything. After the boat ride my mom and her boyfriend bought some freshly caught shrimp and made that for dinner...I had chicken haha!
It was such a fun and relaxing trip. Matt and I totally needed this and we had so much fun! Come back tomorrow for some really good makeup tips!

xoxo Lily
